I don't know if it is the connected society, or or if it is just living in California but it seems like every one is so busy! I am the same way, every minute of my day is scheduled and I am always in a hurry to get to the next thing.
Kid's lives are much the same with soccer and art classes, talent shows, the school musical, dance, coding class, swim practice and maybe homework before bed, there is hardly a free minute in the day. So when do you get to practice?
When you have a crazy schedule your practice expectations have to change. You are not a 30-60 minute a day type of student, and that is ok! Find 5-10 minutes every day to play and you will still improve and progress at a good pace. Just remember- it is more important to do a little bit every day than to skip 6 days of practice and frantically put in 30 minutes right before your lesson.
So, get out of bed and play your pieces before breakfast, or play a song while your parents are making dinner. Maybe brush your teeth, play a song, and go to bed. Whatever you do make it a habit to do it every day. Small but steady is all your teacher is asking for!
